Rainy Season
Rainy Season
There
are six seasons in Bangladesh. I like all the seasons but I like rainy season
most. The rainy season is the second season of them. The Bengali months
–“Ashar” and “Shraban” are called the rainy season. Rainy season is my favorite
season. The rainy season is caused by monsoon. The season brings heavy
rainfall. In this season the sky is overcast with deep black cloud. The weather
becomes dull and gloomy. Sometimes we do not see the sun for days together.
Sometimes it rains cats and dogs. Rivers, canals and ponds are filled with
water. They overflow their banks. Fields go under water. In the rainy season
the roads become muddy and slippery. People can not move easily. The poor and
the day labourer suffer much. They cannot go out of doors for work. Cattle have
to suffer much. Students can not go to school, madrasha, and college. Various diseases like cholera, typhoid, and
dysentery break out. Sometimes there are floods and it washes away our crops
and houses. There are some merits of this season. The season cools and
refreshes all. It also purifies the atmosphere. A journey by boat is very
interesting in this season. The rain washes our dirt. It makes our country ever
green. It is also a season of fruits. We get different types of fruits like mango,
black-berry, jack fruit lychees etc. The rainy season is very useful for our
country. It makes our land fertile. Rain brings much water for our land. So
paddy, Jute, sugarcane etc. grow rapidly. We get fishes in this season. We
always welcome this season and enjoy its beauty.
