A Book Fair
A Book Fair
Book
fair is a fair where various types of books are displayed for sale. A book fair
is usually held in the month of February. In our country it is held in almost
all cities and towns. The largest book fair is organized by ‘Bangla Academy’ on
the occasion of the 21 February to commemorate the heroic martyrs of Language Movement.
Book fair helps to create new writers as well as new readers. It inspires
people to persuade the habit of reading books. Hundreds of publishers
participate in it. Different types of books are sold here. Books of drama,
fiction, story, noble etc. are sold here. The stalls are decorated beautifully.
A large number of children, male and female customers gather in a book fair. A
book fair becomes crowded specially in the evening. However, a book fair is a
source of knowledge and pleasure. A book fair reminds us that books are our
best companions. We get these best friends at a cheaper rate from a book fair. I
visited the Ekushey Boi Mela with my
father in this year. I entered the fair and began to move from one stall to
another with great interest. There were about 100 book-stalls installed by
different publishing houses. Men, women, and children of all classes and ages
gathered in the fair. Many poets, novelists, and writers come here. Many of
them were found exchanging greetings with the customers. Many rare books were
also found available in the fair. I bought ‘hamlet’ by William Shakespeare and
some other books. I was very delighted to enjoy a staged drama based on the
language movement of 1952. We should
read books and inspire others to do so. We should encourage the writers and
the publishers to publish creative books so that the knowledge seekers can
satisfy their thirst.
