A Beggar/ A Street Beggar
A Beggar
A man who earns his
livelihood by begging in a street is called a street beggar. He is seen
sitting or standing everywhere in the street of towns or cities. His hair is
disordered and without oil. He wears torn and patched up clothes. His clothes
are very dirty and bad smell emits from his clothes. Sometimes a street beggar
is alone and sometimes in a company. A street beggar may be able-bodied, blind and
lame. A street beggar has a bag hanging down his shoulder. When a passer-by
walks past him, he stretches out his hand for help. Several
times he applies many techniques to earn much money. Sometime he is seen reciting
some sentences of the holy Quran or the Kalema and asks for money in the name
of Allah and his holy prophet. A beggar prays for the passers-by who help
him. If anyone refuses to give him something, he silently leaves the place and
goes to another. Sometimes a beggar earns a lot. There is no
certainty in a beggar’s life. He does not have any definite place to live in.
His home is wherever he sleeps. There are no fixed hours for his work. If the
weather is inclement/bad he suffers a lot. Majority of the beggars are homeless
and hungry. In fact, he is a man without fortune. There are
many reasons for begging. The unemployment problem and poverty are two main
reasons. Begging is regarded as a serious social problem
because it encourages idleness and apathy to work. The government should take
necessary to check/stop it
